Feeding Experiences

Available Thursday through Monday

Get closer to the animals with Zoosiana’s daily Feeding Experiences—fun, hands-on moments the whole family will remember! For just $5 per person, you’ll receive two pieces of food (lettuce for all animals except the pygmy hippo) and help feed our pygmy hippos, camels, kune kune pigs and tortoises during their scheduled experience times. No reservations needed—simply meet at the exhibit when the experience begins and enjoy a special time with some of our zoo’s most fascinating residents.

Pygmy Hippos: 11:00am 
Camels: 11:30am & 2:00pm
Tortoises: 12:00pm & 2:30pm
Kune Kune Pigs: 3:00pm
Giraffe: currently unavailable

Go behind the scenes for a unique, up-close experience with two of Zoosiana’s most iconic animals: Pygmy Hippos & Giraffe! 

Giraffe Encounter ($35.00 Per Person) 

  • 30-minute, keeper-led tour
  • Takes guests into exclusive keeper-only areas, including the giraffe barn and exclusive loft access where you’ll come face-to-face with a giraffe.
  • Your guide will share educational insights, facilitate enhanced feeding opportunities, and ensure a safe and engaging experience for all participants.
  • Ages 6+ only; children ages 6–12 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. 

Hippo Encounter ($25.00 Per Person) 

  • 20-minute encounter with Hippo Zookeeper in our Hippo Encounter Zone 
  • Enjoy an up-close view of the hippos, participate in supervised feeding, and learn more about their care, behavior, and unique characteristics from a knowledgeable guide.
  • Each session is limited to 6 guests total and may include participants from multiple groups to maintain a small, interactive experience.
  • Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
